Petrol Mercedes C-class: what changes with a remap

Factory petrol calibrations leave margin for poor fuel and hot climates. A remap tunes the ignition, fuelling and boost maps to make better use of that margin, which shows up as livelier throttle response and stronger acceleration.

Of the 13 petrol C-class engines in our data, this one comes 11th for power gain, which is 4 bhp below the C-class petrol average of 25 bhp.

Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 21 bhp and 38 Nm sits below that benchmark.
